The Best Web Design in Denton, Texas

That’s it, that’s our goal. We want to be Denton’s top choice for web and graphic design services. In order to be the best at something I believe you have to be extremely passionate about it. Sometimes when people ask me, “What would you do if you won the lottery?” I tell them, “The exact same thing, just on a bigger scale.” So in that pursuit, how do you become the best?

For me, when I think of my peers and who I want to be like, I start with some great designers. One of my favorite designers is Jeff Sheldon over at Ugmonk. Jeff’s attention to detail is stellar and everything he touches seems to turn to gold. He has a great sense of style that is modern and minimal, but still very creative. He recently created a simple print called “One Day At A Time” and it’s so simple, but it’s also powerful.

What I love about this print is it is a good reminder to take life one day at a time, but for me, it also reminds me to maximize that day. What are the things that I should be doing more of and what are things that I should be doing less of? This year I have reduced my television watching time to just a couple of hours a week. I used to spend hours bingeing on Netflix shows, surfing Instagram and Facebook feeds and watching videos on YouTube. I have replaced that time with having coffee more often with friends, coloring or hanging with the kids I live with (I currently live with a family of six), getting involved in community projects, and sometimes I use that time I used to spend on mindless shows to learn something new from Skillshare.com. Since time is our most valuable resource then it is important if we learn to use it in a way that not only makes us better people, but makes the world around us better.

One of the other things I love about Jeff Sheldon of Ugmonk is that he is always sharing amazing resources and tools. Last year he shared this YouTube video from Wintergatan and sometimes when I’m working I just put on this in the background and it really gets me in the design groove.

Grain and Mortar

So I have designers that I love, but I also have design agencies that I aspire to be like. As someone who has started this business from scratch, I have had to learn along the way. I have a business mentor, but I don’t have a design mentor. So I find online agencies that make me swoon and I push myself and I try to become more like them. The top of my list is Grain and Mortar. To me their work is flawless and they always come up with great content to share with their audience. I am not sure if they post all of their design work online, but what they post is always stellar.

Support Your Shelter

This is from their website, they created a video and icons that shelters could use – no strings attached. How cool is that? I love this simple and powerful way of giving back.

“After reading that one of our local homeless shelters was in desperate need of basic supplies, we decided to use our creative abilities to bring awareness and encourage donations. We shared the video via social media using the hashtag #SupportYourShelter and then emailed homeless shelters across the country to let them know they could use the video for their own purposes. No strings attached.”

Dana Tanamchi – Tanamachi Studio

As a designer I love all types of design, but one of my favorite, and maybe because it is so intimate, is hand-lettering. Dana Tanamachi is at the top of her game and as someone who was a Denton resident and a UNT grad, I can’t help but feel an extra connection to her and her work.

Ruya – Very Cool Web Design Agency in Du Bai

I love finding new ways to do web design and Ruya has thought way outside the box using an illustration as their menu. When you hover over elements in the illustration that is shown below, you will see different sections of their website and then you get launched into a fully animated and immersive experience.

Kickpush Design Agency

I love this website. It’s simple and direct and has a lot of personality – like me. But for real. I see simple sites like this and I immediately want to redesign my entire site. But then I see another site and I want to redesign it again and if I spent all my time redesigning my own site then I wouldn’t have time to do real design work for my clients.

How do we become the Best Web Design Agency in Denton Texas?

So a lot of web design agencies focus on customer acquisition, but we actually prefer to work with the same people over and over. We want to provide amazing customer service and go the extra mile because we know that means a lot. It means a lot to me when Chick Fil A says, “My Pleasure” and I always know that my food and experience there is going to be excellent. There is also a consistency and an attitude of gratitude that is exuded from the employees at Chik Fil A – like, they are actually happy I am there. In the design world it can be easy to bump into “Artists” and “Creatives” that put their art and design integrity before the client. I try not to compromise in either area. I want to have great design that is representative of my skills and expertise as an artist, but I’m designing for a paying customer and their input and happiness is paramount to me. I want raving fans who trusted me to give them the best. Sometimes getting the best takes extra time, education and patience, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know to stay humble, to listen well, to document and communicate clearly and to never stop pushing to be the best.

Google Academy and Improving our SEO Skills

Recently I’ve been working on Google Adwords, Analytics and Google Academy training classes to also help me be better at SEO. I use Moz.com and SEMrush as well as CrazyEgg.com to help create reports for my clients. I will admit that over the years I have known how to do SEO but I wasn’t sure how to show my clients that what I was doing was actually working for them in an incremental way. Instead I was just trying to get them to page one of Google and when I finally made it happen they were happy. Now I understand the complexities of search engine optimization, but also the fundamental way that search engines work to provide the best content to the people that are using their search engines. Great design and good analytics go hand-in-hand. In order to be the best at what we do we need to have websites that not only function well on multiple devices, but also that attract the correct audience. Driving traffic to your site is only valuable if the traffic converts to dollars in your bank.
